The Comox Valley Accessibility Committee is dedicated to maximizing opportunities for people with disabilities. Our goal is for people with disabilities to be full and active members of the community. Our committee is concerned with improving accessibility for everyone including people with mobility or other health challenges. We are currently seeking new committee members to volunteer their time with us. A few hours of your time a month can make a big difference in what we can achieve. All are welcome, regardless of whether or not you have any type of disability.
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month, 12:15pm at the Lewis Centre located at 489 Old Island Hwy, Courtenay. As always, visitors and new members are always welcome!
What we do
We provide advice and work with local governments on making decisions and promote the concept of a barrier-free society through educational programs.
Our meetings are a place where persons with disabilities can voice their concerns about housing, transportation, employment, culture, recreation and public involvement/education services.
